Terms and Condition

EICR Blackpool Terms and Conditions – What You’re Agreeing To (Without Needing a Law Degree)

At EICR Blackpool, our terms and conditions are written to protect you, your property, and your peace of mind. We keep the legal jargon low and the honesty high—because transparency is as important to us as properly earthed wiring.

EICR Blackpool Terms and Conditions – What You’re Agreeing To

Let’s face it—most people scroll past terms and conditions like they scroll past Facebook ads for novelty socks. But when you book a service with EICR Blackpool, you’re entering into a working relationship. Like any good working relationship, it’s best when we all know where we stand.

Our T&Cs exist to outline the scope of what we do, what you’re entitled to, and how we keep things fair, safe, and up to spec. Whether you’re after an EICR certificate Blackpool landlords are legally required to provide, or a one-off PAT testing visit for your Blackpool Airbnb, we like to make things simple, sorted, and straightforward.

“We handle the electrics. You handle the kettle. Together, we keep things running.”

These terms apply when you book us via phone, email, web form, or in some cases, when you wave us down on Albert Road (yes, it’s happened).

Why These Terms Matter

Because your property isn’t just bricks and wires—it’s responsibility. And when you hire us, we promise to:

  • Carry out the inspection you’ve booked professionally
  • Send your EICR report Blackpool-wide within a reasonable time
  • Stick to our quoted prices (unless something unexpected crops up)
  • Protect your personal data (see our Privacy Policy)
  • Honour your rights as a customer under UK consumer law

In return, we ask you to:

  • Provide us with access to the property at the agreed time
  • Make sure someone is on site, where needed
  • Pay your invoice promptly
  • Read your report (you’d be amazed how many don’t)

“Fair terms make for bright homes. And less awkward emails.”

The Services These Terms Cover

Our terms apply to all services provided under the EICR Blackpool name, including but not limited to:

  • Domestic and commercial EICR inspections
  • PAT Testing services for homes, landlords, and businesses
  • Follow-up work based on Code 1 or 2 findings
  • Report reissues, urgent checks, and after-hours bookings (if pre-agreed)

We aim to deliver every service with clarity, efficiency, and full certification in line with UK regulations and Electrical Safety Standards.

Want to learn more about our full service list? Have a scroll through our homepage—everything’s laid out as neatly as a well-labelled fuseboard.

Legal Compliance & Licensing

If you’re a landlord, you’re probably familiar with the mountain of compliance documents you need to keep your licence. Our EICRs help you meet legal standards as laid out by the Blackpool Council. For specifics on your landlord responsibilities, take a look at their Selective Licensing Terms.

EICR Blackpool certificates are fully recognised and formatted to meet those standards, and we’re happy to work directly with letting agents or property managers if needed.

EICR Blackpool Service Commitments and Limitations

At EICR Blackpool, we don’t believe in surprises—unless it’s a birthday or a free biscuit with your brew. So when it comes to our services, we’re crystal clear about what you can expect from us and where our responsibilities begin and end.

We’re proud to be Blackpool’s go-to team for EICR testing, PAT Testing, and no-nonsense certification for landlords, homeowners, and businesses. And just like any decent service, we’ve got a few ground rules—laid out here with plain English and even plainer common sense.

What You Can Expect from EICR Blackpool

When you book with us, you get:

  • A qualified, fully insured engineer
  • Inspection carried out in line with the latest UK Electrical Safety Standards
  • Timely arrival within the agreed appointment window
  • A clear, detailed EICR report Blackpool landlords and agents can rely on
  • Digital delivery of your report (PDF format), usually within 48 hours
  • Fair, upfront pricing with no hidden add-ons

“We show up, test properly, and leave no plug unturned.”

We also make a point of protecting your time. If we’re running late due to traffic or emergency jobs, we’ll always let you know. And if there’s a problem that affects your report—like blocked access or missing earth bonds—we’ll explain it clearly and give you options.

Our Limitations (a.k.a. What We’re Not Liable For)

As much as we’d love to fix everything in a single visit, there are limits. Here’s what we can’t guarantee:

  • That your property will pass first time (we don’t fudge results)
  • That we can complete testing if access is restricted or unsafe
  • That remedial work can be done same-day (though we’ll try if feasible)
  • That we’ll magically locate unknown wiring routes behind 1970s wallpaper

We’re here to test, certify, and advise. If remedial work is needed, we’ll either quote for it or advise you to speak with your own contractor.

“We’re electricians, not psychics—we can’t see through walls. Yet.”

Cancellations, Rescheduling & Missed Appointments

We get it—things happen. If you need to cancel or reschedule, just give us at least 24 hours’ notice. Otherwise, we reserve the right to charge a small fee to cover the engineer’s time.

If we arrive and:

  • No one’s in
  • We can’t gain access
  • Unsafe conditions prevent the inspection

…we may need to reschedule and charge for a call-out. Communication is key, and we always aim to be fair.

Transparent Pricing (With No Gotchas)

All prices are listed openly on our EICR Blackpool Prices page. We quote based on property type and fusebox quantity—not how many stairs we have to climb or how many cups of tea we’re offered (though we won’t say no).

Here’s our residential guide:

  • £115 – 1–2 Beds
  • £140 – 3–4 Beds
  • £200 – 5 Beds
  • £295 – 6+ Beds
  • PAT Testing from £45

For a full explanation of what’s included, check out our EICR Blackpool Services page.

Regulatory Alignment

We follow local authority and industry-specific standards when producing EICR documentation, including formatting required for licensing schemes.

If you’re running a commercial operation, Preston Council offers a handy building regulations guide worth checking out—especially for landlords with property portfolios stretching beyond Blackpool.

Customer Responsibilities & Legal Terms with EICR Blackpool

You’ve seen what we offer and what we promise—but like any reliable two-way circuit, the flow goes both directions. When you work with EICR Blackpool, there are a few simple things we expect from you too. It helps us do our job right, deliver your EICR certificate, and keep things humming along smoother than a new consumer unit.

Your Responsibilities as a Client

To keep things fair, safe, and on time, we ask that you:

  • Provide accurate booking information (property size, fusebox count, etc.)
  • Ensure access to all areas we need to inspect (lofts, meters, fuseboards)
  • Let tenants know we’re coming (trust us, we’ve surprised a few)
  • Give 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations
  • Review your EICR report upon receipt (don’t worry—it’s readable)
  • Pay invoices by the agreed due date (we do chase, politely)

“Good inspections start with good access. If we can’t get in, we can’t get testing.”

If there’s a specific time constraint or unusual setup (e.g. shops with split meters, HMOs with locked subunits), let us know beforehand. We’re happy to adapt—as long as we’re not walking into a maze with no map.

Liability & Disclaimers

Like any professional service, we do our job thoroughly—but there are limits to our liability. By using EICR Blackpool you agree that:

  • We’re not responsible for pre-existing faults or unsafe installations
  • We do not accept liability for losses resulting from certification failure or remedial delays
  • If work cannot be completed due to safety, structural or legal concerns, we reserve the right to pause or cancel the job
  • We are not liable for missed property licensing deadlines caused by delays outside our control (e.g. tenant no-shows, blocked access)

“If it’s not safe to test, it’s not safe to stay. We don’t compromise on that.”

If you’ve got a complaint or concern, we’re not the sort to vanish into the wiring. We’ll handle disputes fairly, promptly, and always try to find a resolution.

Legal Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of UK courts. Basically, if it ever comes to that (rare!), we’ll work with you to resolve things as professionally as we conduct our inspections.
